oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree
One of our favorite Christmas traditions is to go into the mountains to cut down our Christmas tree. We all love it so much, and I think it has become one of the best things we do during the season. Yesterday, the conditions were perfect! A little bit of snow, not too cold, and we found our tree in about 30 minutes. The wind was blowing a little bit, which wasn't that fun, but overall our trip up Rist Canyon was wonderful. Amy Grant's Christmas music serenaded us up the mountain, and we watched the temperature drop as we climbed in elevation. Meredith was a crack-up, tramping around in the snow with her skirt . Michael even walked a few feet by himself! It was so much fun for me to watch Marky and Maddie run around looking for the perfect tree - I love traditions, and it is such a joy to know that we are building traditions in their hearts. I wanted to freeze the moment so we could enjoy it even longer, but the wind forced us back into the truck and down the mountain.
