OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was quite a night. I don't know why this is even blog worthy, however, I must tell SOMEONE.... so here goes.
We had a glorious day at home. Marky had a play date with her friend Cassidy, and Maddie was over at her friend McKenna's house (Cassidy's little sister). The girls played beautifully together, Michael took a long nap, 2 friends stopped by, worked a little, supper out with the kiddos, getting ready to put up my feet and relax when... Meredith comes to me and says that there's poop in the potty upstairs. So, I just told her that was ok, and that she could flush it. WELLL.... Minutes later, my entire evening began to unravel. The toilet and ALL of it's contents were all over the bathroom floor. I've never encountered ANYTHING so gross. I used up all of my towels and a roll of paper towels trying to clean the mess up. It was all over the rugs, the towels, my shoes, I think you get the picture. 90 minutes later, the bathroom was all cleaned up with bleach, bleach, and more bleach, and the towels and rugs were in the washing machine. In all my years of mothering, and this WAS a child-related incident, I haven't ever had to do anything worse.
Well, Marky and Cassidy helped me get over the incident with their sweetness and their laughter. Meredith fell asleep watching a movie and Michael laid right down for sleeping. So even though we had a disgusting interruption, the day ended glorious too. However... I think that I am going to have 2 very tired little people tomorrow morning because it is 12:30 and those girls are STILL up!!!
This mama is tired, tired, tired. No more work for me today. Nighty night.

Batch Blog
Its been a busy month. I haven't had a chance to document all that we've been doing, so I will put it all down in one entry. Firs tin June, we had Meredith's birthday. What a wonderful day it was for her. She is still in her Belle phase, along with some other phases that we won't waste time on the blog discussing. I think that eventually she will grow out of the Belle phase... the other phases will take much prayer on this mama's part. Michael "surprised" me with his living room delivery from the back of his truck. When I gasped as I walked into the room, his look clearly showed that he realized that maybe he hadn't had such a great idea. He says to me without any prompting from me "sorry Mama." I couldn't help but not be upset. However... we did have a discussion about where sand STAYS. Next we went to California. Beach, Disney, relaxation, a little bit of stress and a whole lot of fun. While we were gone, I had my 36th birthday. Now my sister and I are "twins"!!! I was spoiled by my mom and given some birthday money with which I bought a hammock. I had been wanting to have one, but it was a splurge I just didn't have any extra for, and so with my birthday money, I bought one... just in time for Father's Day!! What a great dad my kids have. We are very blessed. So, June is not over yet, and we've only just begun all of our summer fun. I really LOVE summer. Last night we ate supper outside on the deck and I was so filled with joy that our whole family was together, enjoying the beautiful weather and the simplicity of the summer memories that we are tucking away in our hearts.
